WRA Membership

By becoming a member of the WRA, you will be supporting this exciting and unique railway reinstatement project. You may wish to join one of our local branches and attend meetings and social events; you will also have the opportunity to play a more active part by becoming a volunteer (working on the trains, the track or the stations). A subscription to the regular WRA Magazine "Relay" is included in the membership fee.

  • promote the line and increase passenger numbers and revenue
  • increase the frequency of existing train services
  • extend operations East to Northallerton and West to Aysgarth
  • complete the reinstatement of the entire line

WRA Members can currently benefit from the following :

Driver Experience Days

Members can book a Driver Experience Day for the reduced price of £215

Normal price £240 including one year's membership.
Observers £25

Get a taste of the Driver Experience Day by watching the video.

Deltic Driver Experience Days are available in the period April - September 2011.

 Member Concessionary Fare (updated for 2011)

Individual Members (membership number ends with "I")
One adult travels at child rate

Household members (membership number ends with "H")
Up to 2 adults travel at child rate plus up to 2 children at half child rate

Relay Magazine

Relay, the WRA magazine, is normally published three times per year and is mailed to all WRA members. Copies can also be purchased at the Wensleydale Railway sales outlets at Leeming Bar and Leyburn stations and from the Northallerton station kiosk.



 

Relay 59 (November 2011 - February 2012)
is the current issue and includes :

- Local Transport Plan

plus news and reports from the Groups and Branches, Members' Letters, From The Archives,  photos and more.

The Editorial Team welcomes articles, photographs and letters. Relay 60 is now in production and should reach members by the end of February.
